Now in its twenty-seventh year, the Noosa Festival of Surfing has firmly established itself as the leading surf cultural event in the world. It is also the biggest surfing event in the world by competitor numbers (more than 900 entries from 20 regions in 2017).
From humble beginnings the festival has grown into a week or more of fun, thrills and entertainment for surfers and spectators and their families from all over the world. With perfect waves on five point breaks, free movies and live bands plus cold beer and wine at the festival village right on the sand in front of the break, it’s the world’s best surf party.
The Noosa Festival of Surfing has a long history of creating innovative events, from specialist nose-riding in the early days to the Logger Pro and the surfing dogs today, and its professional divisions attract the very best surfers from all over the planet. But at its core are the age divisions from grommets to grandpas, and the team divisions that bring together generations of families and foster team and club spirit.
